From exam day to final college confirmation — every step of the BBA, BMS, BCA and BHMCT admission journey explained clearly.
The MAH CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is conducted by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra for admission to BBA, BMS, BCA and BHMCT undergraduate programmes in colleges across the state.
After the exam, the admission process follows a structured Centralised Admission Process (CAP) — an online merit-based counselling system where students register, get documents verified, fill college choices, and are allotted seats across 3 rounds.
Understanding this process step by step is critical — missing a deadline at any stage can cost you your preferred college. This guide walks you through every step clearly.
Appear for the MAH CET BMS / BBA / BCA / BHMCT entrance examination conducted by the State CET Cell Maharashtra. The exam is 100 marks, MCQ-based, testing logical reasoning, verbal ability and general awareness.
Your marks out of 100 become your raw score. CET Cell releases the provisional answer key after the exam — students can raise objections before the final key is published.
CET Cell converts raw scores into percentiles based on overall candidate performance. Your percentile — not your raw score — determines your merit rank in the CAP process.
Register on the official CAP Portal. Fill in personal details, academic information, reservation category, and upload required documents. Pay the counselling fee online.
Documents are verified through E-Scrutiny (online) or at designated Facilitation Centres. Only verified students appear on the merit list. Documents include mark sheets, caste certificate, domicile, and Aadhaar.
CET Cell releases a Provisional Merit List. Students can raise grievances if their rank is incorrect. After corrections, the Final Merit List is published and used for all CAP rounds.
Log in to the CAP portal and select preferred colleges and courses in priority order. You can add as many options as you want. Lock your choices before the deadline.
First seat allotment based on merit rank, reservation category, preferences and seat availability. Students must report to the allotted college, pay fees and confirm — or lose the seat.
Seats vacated after Round 1 plus remaining unfilled seats are allotted in Round 2. Students may receive an upgrade to a higher-preference college if seats are available.
The final centralised allotment round. Cut-offs at popular colleges often shift significantly. Students who didn't get preferred seats in earlier rounds may get top choices if seats open up.
After all 3 CAP rounds, colleges independently fill remaining vacant seats through Institute Level Admission (ILA) and Spot Admission rounds, managed directly by colleges.
Pay the full tuition fees, submit all original documents at the college, and complete the admission formalities. You're officially admitted. Congratulations!

Freeze = accept current seat. Float = accept current but want upgrade to higher preference. Slide = accept current but want upgrade in same college.
